“Let Gaza Live” Silent Protest in the country club plaza J. C. Nichols Fountain
MAS Freedom, CJME, and local area Islamic centers Call for an End to the Violence and Targeting of Civilians in Addition to Lifting the Siege of Gaza
Kansas City, MO - January 9, 2009 – MAS Freedom (MASF), as the civic and human rights advocacy entity of the Muslim American Society (MAS) and Citizens for Justice in the Middle East (CJME) together with the local area Islamic centers and organizations are sponsoring a 'Let Gaza Live' silent protest on the Plaza. Co-sponsors include American Muslim for Palestine (AMPalestine.com).
The event is a continuation of the condemnation of the last 15 days mass killing of civilians in the Gaza Strip as Israeli warplanes, helicopters, tanks and artilleries pounded the region killing and wounding thousands, half of which are women and children.
Supporters will Rally in the plaza, on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009 at 2:00 PM.
MAS Freedom Executive Director, Mahdi Bray, one of the event's principal organizer's stated, "It is not only important that the violence ends, but the siege of Gaza must be lifted as well. This medieval-like siege, which for months has denied the people of Gaza food, medicine, clean drinking water, and basic necessities of life, is killing and wounding countless innocent civilians, including women and children."

"We cannot remain silent while the Palestinian people continue to suffer from these abominable acts, and we call upon all Americans of good will and conscience to join us in calling for a cease fire on both sides, an end to the Gaza embargo, and to 'Let Gaza Live'," stated MAS Freedom Executive Director, Mahdi Bray.
